Thread’s answered so I have to jack and ask, Peter, did you go straight to a SD or did you ever have a Sub? If the sub would qualify for your needs, why did you go to a SD?

Not a huge fan of the cyclops had a 14060 and 5513 in the past just like the SD much better.

You're fine. The seals that protect your watch are inside around the stem, not in the crown. If they are sound, you are sound.

It's not like a jar of pickles that you open up - you cannot open up your Sub to the elements unless you take off the case back.

This is why you need to periodically replace the seals that protect your watch though. You should never need to rely on that crown to keep stuff out.
