From a Bad Day to an AMAZING Day!

I have expressed interest for the two tone "bluesy" 126613LB Submariner at several AD's starting last year. As many of you know, this was historically not a super difficult watch to get, but between the pandemic and the new 41mm release, it has become much harder to come by.

After getting a flat tire and being stranded on the side of the road, I finally made it to the Miami Design District to meet with some family in town visiting. Whenever I am in the Design District, I try to stop by the Rolex boutique as I have bought a few pieces there (including my first Rolex ever), and the SA's are very friendly. After my usual check in, I left the store and was walking down the street when one of the SA's stepped outside and called for me to come back in, citing that "it was my lucky day."

Of course, my heart was racing, and sure enough, she emerged from the back with my coveted 126613LB resting in its coffin, waiting to gain new life on my wrist This has been one of my grail watches since I was a child, and I am extremely ecstatic to have been able to get one brand new from my local AD. Cheers & hopefully many others will have similar experiences the rest of the year (minus the flat tire)!

did they lowkey have a change of heart to sell to you only after you walked out the door? Why didn't they just offer it to you when you were in the store? Congrats btw!

You are the second person I know who walked out of an AD after being told a model was not available only to have an SA offer the piece after they left the store. Well, congratulations on a beauty! I’ve been waiting several months for one.

Nice wheels Justin.

A can of goo will fix that right up.

Do you own the AD?

Congrats on the new incoming! Maybe the flat tire was just bad luck balancing out the good luck you had coming!

Thank you! Honestly, it felt this way more-so last year for me. I was able to get 8 pieces last year, including two sport models and several SS DJ41's. My AD's have all been dry this year until now. Well worth the wait though!

WOW beautiful piece! If there was a correlation between flat tires and getting the pieces I wanted, I truly wouldn't mind keeping a stock of spare tires
