Traded BLNR for Two Tone Sub

Hello All,

I sold my BLNR on jubilee for 25,000 last month prior to the market dip. I bought the watch at retail so I made a pretty decent profit.

I took that money and purchased a 2022 Rolex Submariner Two Tone with a black dial. Always love this watch and was happy to pick it up.

All in all I was able to move watches and pocket about 9k.

I was speaking to a watch friend of mine and he called me an idiot for doing this move. Saying that the BLNR is a “much better watch” and “I threw away an investment piece”

I usually don’t let shit like that get to me. But it got me wondering.

Was this a dumb move? I already have a 2022 Submariner ND and a Omega Speedmaster Professional. So I felt like I was pretty set on SS pieces. Wanted to add some gold and felt this was a good move.

Personally I think the TT Sub is a lot more classic and classy than any GMT with coloured bezel. It might not fit the hype profile at the moment, but it will stand the test of time when the GMTs drop out of the spotlight so much.

I’m not a fan of current GMT: case shape, 40mm, 20mm lug spacing, no glide lock…

I own a BLNR jubilee and love it. I also love the TT SubLN. I think you did great. You got the watch you wanted (a bad ass one, I must say), + $9k! Don't look back.

Unbelievable a SS BLNR was going for $25k last month. Market correction was bound to happen. Congrats on the ROI and new Sub. Personally, would not have made the move. GMT function with the aesthetics of the jubilee in your current collection was perfect. That being said, sounds like you were happy with your decision. Enjoy!

I personally like the BLNR better, but not because it's a better watch. I like it better because I find the design a little more attractive and I love the GMT complication. I'd say you made the right choice. Good on you!

It is your call - I had the bluesy 3 times and sold it. Love my blrn on jubilee, best watch I ever had, so comfortable on jubilee. The BLNR is very hard to get, while the TT sub is not. That all being said, the TT sub black dial in person is a stunner and a great watch. Don’t double think it, it is your watch to wear and if you love it, that is all that matters.

Get a new watch friend, this guy sounds like another sheep hype following idiot. He will wear what others think he should wear and not himself.
The TT sub is a classy watch and existed long before the BLNR did. So many BLNR's get flipped once the honeymoon has worn off. You maximized the trade value and got 9k back and got the TT for a great price. Nothing wrong with that.

Up to you; your property to do with what you wish. Sounds like you are happy, so that’s all that matters.

I don’t like TT subs, but who cares what I like.

I prefer the BLNR, but only you know which you prefer, plus you have $9k back in your bank. Unfortunately, this may result in tax consequences (only you know), which could impact your net.

BLNR on jubilee yes, but not on oyster. I was never a fan of the BLNR on jubilee.
