It’s Russell Westbrook and he’s one heckuva great basketball player, with some terrific style both on and off court. Perfect watch for him!

lakers played themselves. 7 of their players from last season are out of the league now. how is that even possible when you're building a championship team? horrible front office

It’s possible when you let the players pick their buddies and run the team. Look at the Nets.

This.

Hoping we get KD but they are dreaming if they think D-book is coming to Brooklyn.

The Nets are in the process of outsmarting themselves - again.

It’s like no one from lakers front office watched how bad he was all those years as a Thunder….

He is the biggest choker and ball hog.

And his fashion style?
Perhaps he has same stylist as Cam Newton. Lmao

I woke my great grandfather up from his daily nap and had him log into Facebook since he's the only old person I know. Looks like this thread is about a VTNR. Glad I could clear that up for you with the old geezer's help.

You are absolutely incorrect. He’s an athletic bum. Westbrick is his new name given by basketball fans due to his horrible game play and FG percentage. That watch suits him well, as his style off the court is just as ugly.

It's really bizarre the hate he gets now. His effective FG% for his career is about the same as Demar Derozan, another all-star level guy that's not a great 3 point shooter. And yet Westbrook gets so much more hate for his shooting.

And then people just conveniently forget the dude has FOUR seasons he averaged a triple double. Only 1 other guy in the history of the NBA has done it, and that was just for one season. 2 players in NBA history. And people can give him shit for padding stats on mediocre teams, and yet there have been a littany of good players playing on shit teams that have failed to put up stats like that.

Just really weird the hate he gets now.

can't compare demar to westbrook. demar is an elite mid range shooter and is extremely efficient even in a league dominated by 3pt shooting, and he doesn't rely on athleticism. westbrook relies on athleticism and most of his points come in the paint from layups, dunks, or whatever else results from him bullying his defenders, so naturally his % will be higher. demar was born in the wrong decade, he would be an all time great in the 80s/90s imo. if westbrook played like demar he would quite possibly have the worst shooting percentages in the league i think

I am a Lakers fan, but I respect the game of basketball and the players who make up the NBA. He's not a great fit for what the Lakers need. But you can't seriously disrespect a future HOF.

When did i hate on a man? I couldn't imagine being so petty.

The point stands, RW doesn't need a random defending him. His stats speak volumes.

100% Future HOF. Would be cool to do a thread of who has the best watch collection in the NBA. Lebron has to be up there.

That's why I used effective fg %. I was trying to think of another all-star player that isn't very good from 3 that has similar efg% and Demar was the first guy that I thought of, though obviously their games are very different. Point being nobody really gets on his case for being a bad shooter although again, efficiency wise, they are pretty much equal in terms of how many points they get you per shots taken.

Also not sure if I agree with your take on him being an all time great if he played in 80s/90s. You can't argue what makes him good now is his strength/efficiency from taking a shot that defenses are most likely to give up in today's NBA, and then say he'd have the same effectiveness back when the midrange was better defended. Base case is he'd be about the same or less effective in the 80s/90s. He's a sight away from MJ in eFG%, for example. He'd probably be an all-star level guy then as he is now, but not an all-time great.

Agree that Westbrook would be a much worse shooter if he played Demar's game, but as I explained that wasn't my overall point.

Numbers mean nothing…. its his game play. He’ll have a triple double but still lose by 30, what good is that. Real talk, he sucks.
