No I actually don’t live in Long Island anymore. I only did that because I don’t want AD’s knowing my profile. I’m in Florida.

Got it, well I guess I'm somewhat relieved that it's not happening on the Island

Do you really think a thief is just going to sit there and wait while you try reading a small serial number after he swapped your Rolex? Coloured tape around one of the links. No one can take that off and put it on the replica without you noticing and it shows him you're aware of scammers.

You’d need an awfully large invention fake watches to cover the variations. This sounds odd to me. And the sellers have to be pretty naive

Fascinating. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if this happens to more people.

There was a guy in Singapore doing this. He would arrange to meet through online forum Carousel. On one occasion the guy met the seller at sellers apartment and when he asked for water, he did the swap. The seller saw it go down and kicked him out. Wasn't quite sure why the police were not involved.

Manpower and priorities. Violent crime typically is the top priority. Think about it…if you have the resources to do an online sting operation, would you rather have the police spending time trying to catch a Rolex bandit (who hasn’t been robbing with a gun) or trying to catch a pedophile who meets his young victims online?

Give the replica to the seller saying you aren’t interested as it doesn’t fit or is too big or small..sounds pretty simple.

Yeah seems straight forward.......the perp must have a collection of high end fakes that he matches up with his victims that he chooses knowing its the exact watch in his collection......of course he makes sure he has the excact watch when going to the meeting, & pulls the switcharoo when looking at it under the table, etc.

Hes probably a smooth talker, dresses well & puts his victims at ease while conducting the scam.

I dont see this guy stopping, hes very successful at getting away with this scam & the victims dont even knowing anything for weeks/months.

Eventually he will be caught if he stays in Florida.

I’ve heard of this. Always have to be overly cautious these days.

Yep I was thinking the same thing but use a bright colored one to make it obvious.
