Day Date 18238 vs 118238 bracelet question
Hi all,
Forgive my ignorance. It is my understanding that somewhere around the year 2000 the president bracelet went from hollow links to solid links. Is the clear cut off for hollow vs solid the 18238 ref vs 118238 ref or being that a watch manufactured in 1999 could have been sold in 2001 is there no clear cut off point? Also, I would assume that the solid link bracelet doesn’t suffer as much from band sagging? From my reviews it looks like about a $4,000 to $6,000 price difference so I’m trying to decide if the premium is worth it. What say you, DD owners? Thanks in advance for your assistance and forgive me for any ignorance on my part. Thanks, Keenan |

The 11 series has the solid bracelet. None of the 18238 has it. The early 11 series still use the old red gold clasp.
Avoid that one and pay the premium I bought the 18238 long time ago and had a goldsmith modify the bracelet into a solid one. Like my watches to be heavy

Besides the price difference due to the bracelets when comparing the solid link 118238 to the 18238 bracelet, other factors that affect the price difference between the two models is the dial color and/or type of numbering fonts and the year of each watch. Newer models will bring more than the older models.
