Incoming- With patience it is possible in the UK
I got into watches back in 2012, when you could buy whatever you wanted from an AD. Unfortunately at the time time I was a couple of years out of university and didn’t have the money for them.
I was gifted an Explorer 214270 MKII by my wife for our engagement in 2018 and was dismayed when I came back to buying a watch in 2021 to find the state of the market. I made a few disgruntled posts on here- especially about Goldsmiths as they kept trying to sell me things I didn’t want. But with some perseverance, genuine interest and patience I have managed to get 3 sports watches from ADs in a year- a Milgauss, a Submariner 124060 and now I have my favourite Rolex to mark a special occasion - the one I wanted as a student but couldn’t afford- this amazing Explorer 2. In the end I avoided all the Watches of Switzerland/Goldsmiths dealers as they were impossible for me to deal with (I understand others may have different and positive experiences). I had genuine reasons and conversations with the ADs for the watches and checked in from time to time. With some patience it is possible! Cheers all, Happy Sunday! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
