1988 Rolex 18248 Day-Date Bark President Champagne Dial R Serial Gotegous Patina

For sale is an excellent condition, all original 36mm 18 karat yellow gold Rolex Day-Date “Bark”. The 18248 is a R serial, circa 1988, and is not accompanied by box or papers. The Rolex features a brushed yellow gold case, which is accented by a fixed yellow gold bark finish bezel. The Day-Date is mounted on its original 8723 yellow gold President bracelet with bark finished center links, and is secured by deployment clasp. The bracelet contains 20 full size links, and sits loose on a 7.15 inch wrist. The 8723 bracelet is stamped with a “N2” clasp code, which correlates with a production date of February 1989. The Rolex features a champagne sunburst dial with applied yellow gold stick hour markers, polished yellow gold tritium coated hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The movement used in the 18248 is the Rolex double quickset Caliber 3155, which features approximately 48 hours of power reserve.

The case has been preserved extremely well and contains thick even lugs, which remain crisp. The bracelet has been preserved exceptionally well and contains minimal stretch, and is in approximately 95% condition. The coronet on the clasp remains extremely crisp and appears untouched. The bark finish on the bracelet and bezel also remains extremely crisp and appears untouched. The Day-Date does appear to have received minal wrist time from its previous owner though, as evident by the rose gold colored oxidation that has developed on the case and bracelet from spending years in a safe !

Overall the Rolex is in excellent condition and is a crisp well preserved all original example of an early 18248 Day-Date. Furthermore, the 18248 features an open 6 and 9 Date Wheel, which is only found on early examples of the 18248.

Shall deliver for $15,450
