Icon20 Sourcing a GMT Meteorite Dial

I'm looking to source a genuine Rolex GMT Meteorite Dial to put in my Pepsi 126710. Would anyone be able to help me out or know where to look? I've tried Chrono24 and eBay and can't find anything.

Thanks!

I would say you would have more chance of landing on the moon, than sourcing a genuine Rolex Meteorite Dial for your 126710.

Put your name down for the GMT BLRO meteorite dial watch. If you get one then boom, you got your meteorite dial that you can put on your 126170

Invicta Reserve Hydromax Automatic Men's Watch w/ Metal & Meteorite Dial - 52mm, Steel (34099)
Purchase the above watch, and have the dial cut down to fit. Let us know how that works out. Good luck!!

This 100%. Works as both a joke and as 100% the only way.

For the OP: There are only 2 reasons why this dial swap will never happen.

1. Rolex will never supply a lone GMT II meteorite dial to anyone for any reason, ever, because of how coveted it is, and the risk of someone trying to swap dials to turn something lower in value to something much higher. Even if you have a white gold GMT of the same year, they will not allow a bezel swap because everyone would want it to increase the value and then sell it. They're very smart about secondary market values.

2. Nobody will ever take the dial off their current original meteorite GMT and sell it, because it would kill the value of the watch, and the meteorite dial is just so incredibly cool and unique that nobody who was actually OFFERED and bought that watch from an AD would sell its dial.

I've never been more certain that something won't happen in my life. However, you can still get what you want by means of buying one from a grey market dealer at a premium price, or be patient and get extraordinarily lucky by getting one from an AD. The former is guaranteed, the latter is nearly impossible.

Hope this helps.

I have a White Gold blue dial version , I enquired about a dial swop with my AD and they said they would only do it after I had owned the watch for 5 years

You do have to remember it is the RSC that approves the swap, not the AD so I'd call the RSC to confirm that is indeed the case (which I possibly but not definitely doubt).

OP if you did somehow manage to find one it would be incredibly expensive and in all likelihood you’re better off buying the watch. For example there’s currently one meteorite dial from a “professional dealer” for a day-date on Chrono24 and the dealer is asking $50k for it.

Right now the cheapest meteorite GMT on Chrono24 is $52k.

Your best bet would be to buy a Meteorite GMT, break the watch open, and get the dial yourself.

Not possible, the meteorite dial is classified as a specialty stone dial. Stone dials are extremely limited in supply and are only on hand if the original watch was sold with that dial. Stone dial swaps are only performed in Geneva and never as an upgrade. You may upgrade your dial to a diamond or gem set, but never a specialty stone.

Your AD is misinformed. RSC will let you know this is simply not possible as Meteorite classifies as a rare dial. Cannot swap to it regardless of time elapsed, unless you already own a meteorite dial that needs replacing.

Not a bad consolation prize until your meteorite GMT comes in. You're in the game for the price of a family dinner!!
