Sub going to the shop: How much insurance? (pic)
For how much do you think I should insure my old Sub? She's going to the shop in Chicago. Talked to the watchmaker at the Repair Center there and he's aces!
Note that the bracelet is not going with it: that's on its way to Hongkong and was insured for $800, along with another jube (probably a little low now that I think of it). Thanks for any advice. I don't think postal insurance -- although a ripoff IMO by normal insurance standards -- is THAT expensive. Going to put her in the mail in ~ three hours when I get out of this laugh factory! Very respectfully / Warm regards, LT Sub M. Datejust, USN |

I would think $3800 + tax. At least what it would cost you replace it with a new one.

Do you have an update after 6 weeks
I've been waiting for you to check in with any kind of update with your bracelet(s) (I forget, one or two?)
Have you heard anything other than confirmation that this Hong Kong repair place received the bracelets? I may want to use the same service, but I'm waiting for you to be the experimental user... Thanks, David |

1) I have no update. I will email the gent today. I DID find out just now that my DJ repairs had been completed in Chicago and that they just await payment (when were they planning to tell me? I had to call Chicago. Also not just delighted that I have to mail them a check...they might have told me that sooner so that my wait was not needlessly prolonged by three days of mail time and I assume waiting for check to clear...but if they fixed my watch righteously, all that will be of little moment. Still, rather annoying to say the least.)
2) I sent it to classicwatchparts.com. Gent named Mike Young. He said 30 days and it has not passed yet, so please don't take this as a criticism of their service. I will let you know how it all turns out. |
