Help Needed Identifying Vintage Rolex

Hi,

Can anyone help me identify this Rolex? Please see the photos.

The case is stamped 15 carat gold and has the number 4130. The Rolex stamp appears to be from 1926 from the little information I have been able to find.

Thanks!!

The case has hallmarks from Glasgow and is dated 1923. It is very unusual to see the 15 carat .625 stamps.

The Rolex 7 World Record stamps in the case back were in use up to about 1926 so it is all consistent with a mid 1920s manufacture.

CTech, Thanks for the quick reply and information!

Is there a reference book or link you could share where you found that information?

Interpreting hallmarks is tricky at times and so you need to look at several charts to get complete information.

This is a good start:

https://www.vintagewatchstraps.com/importmarks.php

and once you know the two opposed F marks are for imported goods at the Glasgow assay office you can then find the date from other charts such as this one:

https://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Dates/Glasgow.html

Other pages on the vintagewatchstraps website are fascinating and several of them might be relevant to your 1920s Rolex.

There is a little bit of information about Rolex case back stamps in the Rolex Field Manual:

https://www.biblio.com/book/vintage-...SABEgIfkPD_BwE

but very little elsewhere on the Internet as there doesn't seem to be much interest in these 100 year old watches and the more obscure details about the Rolex history

This type of help is what makes TRF a great place.
