From 0-1%, what is the chance of getting a SS Rolex from the AD in Singapore Airport?

Passing through Singapore and like many, will pass the Rolex AD in terminal 3 at Changi Airport

Aware that the probability is close to nil, but wanted to check whether anyone has had any success stories.

If not, any thoughts on increasing the likelihood of success? Will be wearing a Pepsi and will try to shoot for a sub (Cermit in an ideal world...alas). Thanks!

You are more likely to be struck by a lightning

Seriously speaking, you probably stand a better chance than at any other AD outside. I can't quite quantify how much though. Back in 2015 they had a platona on sale at a generous discount. I could stretch my budget to bring it barely within reach but I'm not a chronograph fan so didn't bother. Smart move but I'm not a watch dealer either, anyway.

Happy hunting!

The odds are about what you stipulate, however if I was to cold call an AD I'd rather it be at an airport then a cosy village AD in Monterey.

I would say zero chance. Singapore is a fabulous place for vintage watches if you had more time. I called in at one of the AD’s and it didn’t make any difference what I had on my wrist then and I’m guessing that still might be the same now. The only GMT they had in store was the one on my wrist and no other ss sports models, good luck with your chances.

You can try, but it is hard... the AD is Gassan. I have ask the sales rep everytime passing thru changi airport and same verbiage nothing in stock for sale.

There are other AD in Singapore, but the worst are Cortina and The Hour Glass.

Enjoy SG airport, one of the best in the world!

PS: Be sure to have a Krispy Kreme donut while you're there :)

Was there in late August - we walked in - the lone SA did not even look up to acknowledge us. We looked around a bit. The guy says we have nothing available. I still don't understand the reasoning to have store in an airport and pay for an SA to be there. You would think most people coming through are travelers. I guess some of the locals who travel very frequently are "regulars" but why wouldn't you try to have at least something available for the people coming through. Anyway - the airport as a whole is amazing. Enjoy it for what it has to offer.

Head over to the Gassan in Terminal 1 if you're interested in bundling. They will sell you any SS model that's in stock as long as you bundle with another brand in store...they have Tudor, Longines, Seiko, and a few others.

Hahahahaha your dreaming my friend. Surely not gonna happen. We'd need more softening in the economy to bring the demand for luxury good down. Down well below current levels. To get to the point of having available inventory in stock for immediate purchase. Its a far ways from that anytime soon.

Was just there a few days ago. Not much to see, and even less to purchase.

The watches are spoken for long before they arrive at the store. The wealthiest people from all over the world pass through that airport and those are the "travelers" that get the watches in addition to the wealthy locals that use that airport on a daily basis.

I am at Terminal 3, Changi a fair bit. Have asked the "anything for sale?' half a dozen times in the past year.

Always got a nice "NO".

From 0-1%, what is the chance of getting a SS Rolex from the AD in Singapore Airport?

Last time I was there (mid-March), there wasn’t a single watch in the store and the SA never looked up from her phone. Doesn’t sound like it’s changed much since then.
