Snoopy 50th Anniversary vs CK2998 - Perhaps the best blue dial Pandas from Omega?

Very fortunate to have landed the Snoopy and have always wondered how the shade of blue compares against the CK-2998 LE. It appears the CK 2998 blue is of a darker shade but the Snoopy 50th Anniversary just has many spectacular details unmatched by any Speedmaster LEs I have owned in the past from rotating earth to Snoopy on rocket launcher moving through space on the case back.. just an amazing specimen

Not unless you have a hook at an OB.
That’s how I eventually got mine, but I’m far from a whale…
And I think they are done producing them too so likely the remaining will go to loyal/repeat customers

They are still producing them. There was some rumor of them discontinuing the Snoopy in March or April. I saw a post from Omega to some OB manager saying that was a rumor and Omega is not discontinuing the Snoopy yet…….with that said, like mentioned, if you aren’t on the list, chances are slim. My OB is hoping to get mine before Christmas but we’ll see.

They are coming down in price and I’ve seen them for $16k which isn’t too far off from retail+tax.

Anything is possible, but it’s def debatable. OB could be telling customers different things to keep them on the “hook” so to speak.
Likely, only Omega really knows what the plan is so the rest (including my own), is speculation.
I hope everyone that wants one or expressed interest in the beginning gets one.
Snoopy and 321 prices are quite down from their highs, but what brands/pieces aren’t?

I'd love to pick up a Snoopy to go along with my 321 but the local boutique is still asking me to spend $50K+ to get one.

My boutique told me that I have to spend around 20k usd extra to get snoopy within 6 months

Guess I got lucky. I got my 321 a few months ago and picked up my Snoopy yesterday, although I did end up selling my 321.

True. My OB SA and I were talking for a couple hours today and he told me Omega Switzerland will never come out and tell any manager or SA what they are doing or planning. He did tell me though he thinks the Snoopy’s days are numbered as Omega did send a memo telling the OBs to get their Snoopy lists in order as the production is winding down. We did also talk about the white speedy Daniel Craig was wearing but he knows nothing other than the pic. Omega has not announced anything yet. Personally we both don’t think the list will be filled as he still gets a fair amount of people walking in asking to be on the Snoopy list.

I believe the white dial speedmaster in steel is coming in the new year. Red writing is to distinguish it from the Canopus gold version.

Congrats on the pick up Fred. Got one myself very recently too :) finding the strap very stiff though so have gone aftermarket and will get a bracelet at some point

I do still love it but I recently picked a Rolex 116710BLNR and when I got the call for the Snoopy and went down and checked it out and fell in love with it. It is such a unique look. Well, unfortunately there was no way I was going to be able to swing $40k worth of watches in 3 months so one had to go. I was thinking about this before as my OB told me they would get me a Snoopy before the end of the year. I figured I have a small modest collection of watches so 2 speedmasters was overkill. And honestly I’m not a huge NASA buff so realistically I could just get a Speedy Pro and that would fill my need if I really want one. The Snoopy and the BLNR is a good combo to me, gives me a black dial watch and a white/silver dial watch.

Funny part is I ended up telling my OB SA about it while we were just hanging out and talking on Saturday. He said, he understands and appreciates my honesty and said he actually had a couple other clients who passed up on a 321 after getting a Snoopy as well. He said if anything, the 321 helped me secure the Snoopy and he knew I was really after that as that was the first watch I was asking for just before the beginning of the year.

If I could have swung all 3, I would have kept the 321 but alas, it wasn’t in the cards.
