Change I'd Like in my Sub
I have a Submariner 18600, which Rolex repaired in April, 2022. Since then it's performed wonderfully; it's the most accurate mechanical watch I've ever seen and it should stay that way for many, many years.
But there's one thing I don't like about it. I often use my watch during swimming or rowing, either to take my pulse swimming laps or to time the number of seconds it's taken to row a certain number of meters. For things like that, I find the face of the Submariner too cluttered to instantly pick out the second hand, so I wish that hand were more visible. Most Rolex watches look similar in this area, with one exception: the bright green second hand of the Air King. The watches have similar movements so I expect an Air King second hand could be put on a Submariner. If it can, would Rolex be willing to sell me one and install it? I'd still want to keep the Submariner second hand in case a future owner wanted to put it back, but I don't think I ever would. Mike Taglieri |

Rolex would not sell you a second hand from an Air-King for your Submariner. They wouldn't even sell you the second hand of your own watch.
Do you also find the 14060 2 liner to look busy? |

Rolex could learn a thing or two from Timex.

You could try to source a colored second hand in the aftermarket.
I’m confused as to which Submariner reference you own… |

You could source one in the secondary market but Rolex will not sell you one.

All I can say is that when swimming / timing laps etc I always wear a digital Timex or Casio.

True. Some say the he 14060 hands are too thin, but I find it very readable without the date or GMT complications

The Yachtmaster had a red second hand, and since it is the Sub Dates brother, the parts are a direct fit.
All you need to do is find one.

I know this is a Rolex forums, but for non-cluttered dial on a luxury diver with a top-notch mechanical movement, I've enjoyed the Blancpain Bathyscaphe...
