Keep the DD and add a DJ.
Sell the DD today and it will cost you more in a few years to repurchase. DJ's there are so many choices out there from Vintage to Modern, with a price point for all budgets. |

DD or DJ
Not a good time to sell but possibly a good time to buy. That being said, keep the DD and save to buy the DJ. This will also give you the chance to reconnect with your DD.

I agree keep the DD and work towards adding the DJ later. If you have the TT itch just slap the Bluesy on haha.
I really think you'd regret selling the DD40--maybe not for a few months or even years, but down the road and it's a hard watch to get back. I don't wear mine that often because it's too flashy for my work but I try to wear it as much as possible! |

It’s an amazing watch but all eyes are on you for sure when you wear it.

I would consider saving and upgrading to platinum DD, that's a real grail

I have a bluesy and a dj41. I love the look of my dj due to its absolutely classic dial (white sticks), fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Besides the huge price jump up to a dd, the dial looks a little busy for my taste. Like maybe I should add a pinky ring or something.
Either way, do what speaks to you. |

You’ll get the all of two-tone look you like (and you get it in solid 18K), you’ll have perhaps only half as much money tied up in a Tridor than in your current DD, and you’ll have yourself a fairly rare DD. (If it matters to you, a Tridor may also be less likely to drop from today’s values. When new, a Tridor’s MSRP was about 25-30% more than a YG DD, but just now that gap is gone, or even slightly reversed.) |

I’m in the camp of if you aren’t wearing a watch you should sell it, no matter what it is.
A Day-Date does not fit my lifestyle nor could I rationalize spending that much on one piece. But only you OP can decide what will make you happy. |

I have both and can't imagine only owning only one or the other.

It’s a huge deal to sink 40k into a single watch. If you need to release some of that just do it.
They’re just wrist trinkets at the end of the day.

Probably sounds a bit daft, but another reason I don't wear the DD much is my ring. I have a sterling silver cygnet ring that I love, but I'm a matchy matchy guy, so that looks great with s/s or t/t, but not the RG. Gunna solve that problem by buying another ring.
That, plus the "keeping for best" have stopped the bonding process. Time to just wear the damn thing, because man it's a great looking watch. Still love t/t DJ's. Sundust & diamonds is what's interesting me currently. |

Just add a two tone, don't sell the DD. I am quite certain you'll reconnect with it, although a rose gold with olive dial watch is not destined to be a classic.

Yeah don't sell the DD for DJ for sure, its a grail for a lot of people. Maybe buying another ring to match is a good idea

Currently have one white gold DD, white dial with lumed batons, 118209 (down from 3: sold 1 in YG and on Pl for a PP); two DJs (took a while to find the right ref: 126200 in black and in silver *chefskiss*) and one OP, again the best one 116000 in black. Will fight anyone (not really it’s just an expression) who prefers other refs or claims life is possible without each one of these.
