What is the difference...

between a silver dial and a rhodium dial (i.e. in a DJ or a DD?)

Silver is for a lack of better word, silver. Rhodium is darker then silver and is only available with Roman numerals or diamonds, where as silver is availble in sticks, Arabic numerals, and diamonds.

As said, silver is different........ it is slightly warmer (on the tan side) and I think that is has better contrast..

Rhodium is in the Platinum family and so when you have his type of dial, it is almost exactly the same color of the SS or WG bracelet and case... to me, it is a bit hard to see, especially in the sunlight....

But if you are seriously thinking of buying I'd advise you to go to a dealer and ask to see the two "in the flesh". Its very difficult to to get the feel of things from photographs/brochures.

I'd also recommend seeing both dials in person. I lusted after the rhodium dial for a while and bought a DJ with it only to find myself having trouble reading the time in certain lighting; ended up changing dials to silver.
