Always enjoyed his brand of comedy, though playing the drinking game, 'Bob', damn near killed me when I was in college.

RIP funny man.

I can remember listening to his comedy albums. Probably the best delayed response deadpan delivery in the business.

Also maybe one of the very best comedy series endings in the history of television.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgdUWXf8jJk (if you don't get it, I'll explain it to you)

I think he and his wife were best friends of Don Rickles and his wife, so you can imagine those get-to-gethers.

Don and Bob documentary......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3cs7PyXPsU

I really enjoyed his career and humor. My parents would play his first comedy records. RIP. (and thanks for giving us the "Bob" game in college--someone says "Bob" in the Bob Newhart show, take a shot--it had to be beer at 19-27 times an episode).

Comic genius.

I can still remember where and when, as a 14 year old, I first heard the, Sir Walter Raleigh monologue.

"you bought, eighty tons of leaves Walt?"

RIP, Bob, RIP.

Funny you mention that, because that was my earliest memory of him doing that on his comedy album.

The ending scene of Newhart when he wakes up and says "I had this terrible dream of owning a B&B..." and Susan Pleshette is in bed with him.

I'm still laughing thinking about how funny that was!

RIP Mr. Newhart.

My favorite comedic actor through several decades. He didn't need to belittle others to be funny.
