Greubel Forsey Hand Made 2

40.9mm, 2-3 annually and CHF 620,000

https://watchesbysjx.com/2025/01/gre...nd-made-2.html

The Hand Made 1 is made up of 308 parts, “95%” of which are made with manual tools in a process that takes 6,000 hours.

The Hand Made 2 is made up of 270 parts, “96%” produced manually in a 5,000 hour process.

According to Greubel Forsey, the parts of the Hand Made 2 that are not produced with manual equipment are the sapphire crystal, gaskets, spring bars, mainspring, and majority of the jewels. One ruby component is “handcrafted”, namely shaped by hand, and that’s the cone-shaped jewel for the finger of the power reserve indicator.

Beautiful, but I think I like the design of the handmade 1 more. This is great too though.

Lovely hand craftsmanship and enjoy seeing the details. Wish all timepieces had 'manual tools percentage' and 'hours' specifications.

The caseback looks wildly uninspiring.

I think if you look carefully at the photos ichiran provided, you’d have to not be paying attention to be completely uninspired. They don’t blast you in the face with gratuitous tons of finely applied the-usual, but what they do give you is exquisite in a way big commercial names just can’t/won’t give you.

6 HM2 have been sold at this point, and the next delivery is 2027. By the way, Basile informed that the HM1 is still available for order.

Those hours quotes seem like utter B.S.

Totally agree, marketing nonsense. As long as it's spewed by someone with a French accent there are enough mega rich guys who will gobble it up.

If you assume one person in serial production for the whole watch, it’s absurd. Is you assume multiple artisans making and finishing components, with one watchmaker designated for assembly and calibration, its not crazy.
