I prefer the blue.
Silver is also beautiful, but for the silver I prefer the OP because of the gold hands

I was all about the blue but was taken aback when I saw the rhodium with rose gold two tone. Unexpectedly instantly became the one for me and I put my name down for one immediately.
Hoping to get the call soon.

What dial colors are your other watches? Get a dial color you don't already have.... all three are great choices. No wrong answers.

Do you think the black dial may look "smaller" than it actually is? If so wouldn't this also be the case with blue one?

The silver is the most versatile to me. Goes with everything and has a stunning presence. I like the blue but not as the primary color day to day. Black is always great but with so many other watches with a black dial, I am back to sliver.

For me it's the slate against the two tone rose gold... Something special has a sunburst like quality...

Need some help from you I guess.. I spent last few weeks considering different options from Rolex portfolio because I decided to finally add a Rolex watch to my collection, something like a gift to myself for several achievements. I tried numerous GMTs, OPs, Submariners, Explorers and Datejusts, mostly by meeting helpful people from internet forums/facebook groups, can't try them at ADs in Poland of course... Eventually I made my decision: 126234 (new ref.) Datejust in 36mm fluted bezel + jubilee bracelet. The only thing that I didn't decide yet is the color of the dial.. I narrowed the choice to three: black, blue, silver. I tried wimbledon, green, blue motif, palm motif - didn't like them for few reasons. The thing I care about the most is that I want this Rolex to be the most "classic" look I can achieve. Do you have any "experience" with any of these colors? Maybe you regret choosing one of them after some time?

Current collection: Omega Speedmaster 3861, Tudor BB58 black, vintage Omega Seamaster, Herbelin Classique, Seiko Sports 5

What would you choose in this case: black, blue or silver?

Thanks!

Which DJ36 dial color is the best in your opinion?

Blue, but I bought a silver dial 41 last year, because I already had a blue dial watch. Love silver even though it’s probably my 2nd favorite choice.

This is my thought too. The silver stick or white roman would “ look” larger.

Black or silver for a "classic look." Dark colored dials will make the watch appear to be smaller and light colored dials will make the watch appear to be larger. If you have a smaller wrist, black. If you have a larger wrist, silver.

First, welcome to the forum. Of your 3 choices, blue, and it’s not even close. The silver, while arguably more classic, is monochrome and boring. As MichelleP noted , you already have black dialed watches.

Obviously it’s totally subjective, and depends on what you want.

Of the 3 Rolex watches I got for myself (I bought my MIL’s vintage gold DJ President because she was going to sell it off), all three are monochromatic silver/white metal/SS…Yachmaster (platinum dial but white metal), silver dial DJ36 in all SS for my work watch, and 114200 Air King with silver dial as my weekend/casual watch. To me they are not boring at all. They don’t demand attention as a blue or other colored dial would, and they go with everything. The Rolex silver dial is also very attractive, and has a lot of depth to it.

I’m also, personally, not looking for a “pop of color” on my wrist. I instead want a watch that works with any color I wear, which varies from black to pink depending on the occasion.

For me, personally, a blue dial watch would not be a good pairing with black clothes. I have a vintage blue dial Tudor snowflake Sub, and that is a fun weekend watch as well, but not something I’d ever wear with black. Likewise, a black dial watch would be too limiting for my blue and pink clothes.

I think the most beautiful Rolex watch is the TT blue dial Submariner, especially the classic 5-digit aluminum bezel model. That blue dial is absolutely stunning, and it commands attention. I also know a few people with the blue dial DJ and the Sky Dweller…gorgeous watches that also stand out.

My husband’s two Rolex watches have a black dial…black dial TT Sub and the 16710 GMT. The black dials are both great but, again, those watches do not hide from view.

Interesting that you match your watch to your wardrobe. I never even think about that, though I did yesterday, and on my Wedding Day. Yesterday I wore my Wimbledon, because it had a pop of Eagles green, and I was wearing a green Eagles shirt. On my wedding day, I wore my silver OP, because of its classic look. Otherwise, I wear whatever strikes my fancy, regardless of what clothes I’m wearing. Of course, I’m hardly a fashion plate, in my Levis and tees….

The sunburst of the blue really can look different depending on the light. Also in the sunlight a sunburst just kind of glistens. For those reasons I would go blue. I have a mint and the thing I love most about it is how the sunburst catches the light. Plus if at any point you are thinking of a Sub or GMT you'll probably end up with a black dial. Variety is the spice of life😁
