I like the point of this post and as usual I agree with Peter. People spend so much time making up their own childish nicknames for watches, Rolex often tells us exactly what to call their products and components. Maybe it’s just me, but I respect when people actually know what they are talking about from a technical standpoint.

When it comes down to opinions.
You should read some of your previous posts and then apologise to Peter.

Lol, apologize for what? I’ve been pretty consistent that people should be able to enjoy the hobby how they want. Nicknames, watches as investments, buy a watch a smash with hammers. Do whatever floats your boat. Dude is a curmudgeon and a dinosaur |

Yes, I know, but none of the technical drawings reference or indicate such a part. Its also not a Rolex registered trade mark whereas (by way of examples) Oysteflex, Chromalite, Cerachrome, Chronergy, Syloxi, etc all are registered to Rolex SA Can you confirm (as has been asked already) the source of Chromoflex? I'm calling this one out as false. No way Rolex would name something like that and not register the name.

‘Chromoflex’ is an odd name to just concoct along with that description. Maybe we’ll get an answer… |

Syloxi is Rolex’s oxide-coated silicon hairspring. Introduced maybe ten years ago in smaller references and I believe it’s in the new 1908 reference.
ChromoFlex is the one nobody’s heard of :) We’re waiting on the OP… |

Having been the Rolex sales specialist at an AD from 1998 to 2017, these terms will forever be ingrained in my mind even though I am no longer affiliated with the industry. I had the privilege to attend Rolex training and they get incredibly in depth in regard to patented technology and making sure we used the correct terminology when talking about watches. For example, "two-tone" was a huge no-no. Ideally they wanted us to say Rolesor or at the very least steel and gold.

As I mentioned in post #32, I believe ‘Chromoflex’ is an internal moniker used for a specific element within said movement. There’s no evidence that Rolex has ever trademarked the term, nor is it found in any publicly available materials. If that means it shouldn’t be cited, so be it. That said, I still believe it’s an internal designation that could eventually make its way into the public domain over time.

In 1988 Rolex introduced the Rolex Tridor which was a tri-tone Rolex Day-Date which offered a bracelet that featured white pink and yellow 18KT gold.
