Icon5 Trade + Money? How Much and Which Direction?

Considering a change in my collection. Thinking about a trade that may or may not include some cash. No actual trade being discussed yet so this is purely theoretical. I know you may not like the watches but that’s not the question. I’d like to know what if any dollars you think should be included in either direction. Here’s the idea.

My side:
1.) Rolex Explorer 216570 (polar) full kit. Dated 2016. Excellent condition, has been an unworn safe queen since a full RSC service in 2019.
2.) Tudor GMT 79830RB full kit. Dated Oct 2022. Still almost 3 years on warranty. Worn in regular rotation so definitely shows normal wear marks on the bracelet. No dings on case, bezel or crystal. Well within COSC.

Other side:
1.) Omega Speedmaster Chrono Moonphase 304.33.44.52.03.001 full kit. Dated within the last year so still under warranty.
2.) IWC Pilot Chrono IW388111 full kit. Dated within the past year so still under warranty.

What say you!!

Just a comment. My husband purchased that IWC in 43 mm back in July. It’s the most accurate auto I have ever seen. Using positional difference at night it keeps between right on and plus 2 over this entire time.

Myself had the ex 2 in white. I sold it to a man who actually purchased it from me in the mall when he saw it on my wrist. I regret selling that watch, I have asked my AD for one.

I'd trade the Tudor + cash for the IWC and keep the ExpII and wear it.
The amount of cash is the number you're comfortable with.
You can gauge by looking at prices in the secondary market.

I like the two you have better than the ones you want.

+1! This is exactly what I would recommend as well. That Explorer needs to be taken out of the safe and enjoyed!

I’d wear the heck out of that Explorer and save for the IWC

I’d keep the Explorer and wear it. Add whichever of the others you want later and maybe put the Tudor towards it.

Knowing the proper answer would take a fair amount of research into the recent sale prices of 4 different watches. I don't think anyone is going to give you an accurate answer off the top of their heads.

Id dump the Tudor... Just not a fan of their watches.

Id go for the Omega over the IWC

The trade value on the Tudor is going to be very little. You are better off keeping your watches and saving for the new ones.

One sits in a safe the other gets worn but as mentioned not a lot of trade value in the Tudor.

If you're actually planning on wearing the Omega and IWC then absolutely got for it.

My opinion only, I love a Moonphase and the Omega is a gorgeous watch with great legibility and the day/date IWC with the chrono function also a great looking watch. Wasn't there another IWC you were looking at as well? Thinking you want 2 chronos?

Keep the Explorer..I’ve never been a fan of Tudor watches but I’d keep it instead of your other 2 potential trade choices..but I’ve never been one to ask for opinions Just do what you feel is right as it appears these are watches you desire.

Can’t speak to the money part of the deal because I haven’t stayed up on secondary market prices for these references. I own the moonphase with the black dial and it’s an amazing watch especially at secondary market price. Consider buying an example on bracelet then just adding the strap as buying the bracelet afterwards will be quite a bit more (unless you hate the bracelet then don’t bother). I’d keep the polar depending on what else you have so you can keep a GMT and have a white dial, but if it’s not your thing then maybe consider trading your Tudor for the opaline dial version?

It’s off white so it’s not as loud, and obviously if you’ve been wearing your current one a lot then you know you like the case, bracelet, size etc.

If you're dealing with a grey dealer I would anticipate you getting $9K to $10K for your EXP2 and Tudor.

Back when things were crazier, the age of the modern Rolex didn't matter too much. Well, now it does...plus it's the previous version that has proven less popular than the newer one.

Tudor GMT are very soft, but not any softer than the Omega and IWC you are looking at.
