Thoughts on M14060M?

Looking for an everyday submariner. How does this 14060M 2 line look? Rolex CPO for $10K.

Is that a nice version of the 14060M though? What should it be priced at? I’m assuming they have a higher price because of Rolex CPO program?

Appreciate your expertise I’m new to this!

I’m considering a 5512 vintage and 14060M.

Pix are not very good.

That is not a bad price for a CPO ‘M’ if it is serviced and in good condition.

I prefer my 2 line 14060M to the 4 line version.

Sorry for pic quality. If you go to Tappers Rolex dealer you’ll see it on their website. I can’t use links in here.

I like the 2 line as well!

I checked the pix on Tappers and they are not good enough.

I can’t clearly see the brushed finish.

No pix of the clasp or wear on the bracelet etc. but you do have a 2 year warranty.

I would have to see this one in person.

Agreed. Everything you need to focus on is out of focus or not shown.

I might be able to get some better pics?

You can’t tell from any online pics from CPO. They all look like they are in the exact same condition and they don’t show you the clasp

Been in love with my purchased new 14060M nearly 20 years ago. Rock solid, used for everyday wear for those nearly 20 years in all conditions and uses. I wouldn't think $10K would be too much for a very good to excellent Rolex guaranteed CPO; however, I would not be able to buy it from those pics. A hands on inspection would be required for me. Good luck.

If CPO, It’s probably in nice condition. If I wanted that model, and I could afford it, I’d buy it.

Looks nice enough but it’s 2K over market and no idea about condition of bracelet.
Since it is polished they may have ruined the crown on the clasp.

Ask for more photos, my experience with CPO is that older pieces can still be over polished, bracelet sag etc the same as Grey.

Ideally see in person.

Rolex CPO means it’s been fully serviced, two year warranty for peace of mind, and if any component parts needed replacing they may well have, I’d buy that in a heartbeat it’s a lovely example …

As others have stated the price is too high and they arent showing key points such as bracelet stretch. I would buy from Jacek at tropicalwatch instead. Or takuya watches. Have purchased from Jacek. fair market prices and condition is well represented thère. Most everything is in excellent shape.

This is CPO… they will have refurbished it and it will look good as new, with new papers. It might be $1-1.5m more than you could find elsewhere but for me, that’s worth it!

I think a couple of folks here said it right. For a couple K the CPO program isn't a bad idea. It's a clean watch. OF course, you need to verify bracelet stretch condition, and take a glance at the coronet on the clasp to satisfy yourself, but a CPO was probably recently serviced and given a Rolex polish.

For a "wearing" watch, that is what I would want. ONE other thing... and I"m not sure so double check on this, but something in the back of my head is making me think on the 14060M you could only got the 4 liner dial. The 2-liner dial was the non-M version. ???

Those of you in-the-know and not as old as me please chime in and remind me, as I only bring it up as a point to attempt to be helpful to the OP.

As already said, would need better pictures but given that it's CPO, that would justify the slightly higher price but it's likely freshly serviced and I would think to be in excellent condition.
Great reference by the way.

I believe there are some 2 liner versions of the 14060M. There is another one at Gray and Sons right now (W528739) for $9500. Would be curious to get your takes on that one too. Thank you!

It's not low market price but it's certainly not terrible either, considering you get peace of mind and a warranty. You'd just want to ascertain certain things as others have mentioned like condition of the bracelet and bezel, quality of polishing and so on. I'd want to put it on a timegrapher too, to see how the timekeeping is.

The price is higher than the grey market but the amount is negligible. Getting guaranteed provenance and 2 year Rolex warranty is easily worth the price differential in my opinion. I would only been checking that the bracelet isn’t stretched and the clasp isn’t over polished before pulling the trigger.

Looks nice from what can be seen. That said, the new Sub is best for "everyday" in my opinion. Ceramic bezel, better bracelet. This looks like a nice watch but price is high. Just my opinion

Appreciate your opinion! Still deciding whether to go 14060M or a nice 5512 vintage example. For everyday use.

I suspect, that one can never trust internet photo’s, 100%, to be of the actual watch for sale.

I feel like everyday, the 14060 is probably going to get you more years of use without worry. At the high end the 5512 is 40+ years old as a minimum. I love them, but i don’t know that i would wear one in the way i wear a modern sub. Hot tub, sauna, swimming etc. everyday, my vote would be a nice example of a 14060 and if the bracelet is shot get a NOS one from Rolex for $1300 and you’re set.
