New wear

Got a 116710ln last night along with a few Mahattans.
It's ok...GMT has never been my favorite but I wanted to wear something non assuming.
It's a very handsome watch but I feel it is a bit flat.
I'm always wearing a dive watch (dssd, sub etc) since my existence is doing that, so this maybe a nice change and not scream so DIVER!!!!
Look DIVER in the house !!! DIVE WATCH DUDE!!

Anyone else wearing this happily ?

My 116713 is one of my favourites.

Some of the Rolex watches called ‘divers’ eg. 14060, 16610 etc. do not have rotating bezels that comply with the ISO standard for a diver.

Your 116710 is as good a divers watch as most Submariners.

Unless you are diving to deeper than 100 metres.

You also have the benefit of a GMT function.

Enjoy wearing it.

Take the stickers off?

Picked up a ‘19 warranty card dated 9/20 yesterday. I like it alot. Very clean watch with just enough shine. During the day in the sun this thing catches the light nicely. 6 more posts then ill be able add pictures…

Great watch. I actually find it is more noticeable than the Submariner due to the PCLs and bezel font. People do confuse it with the Submariner due to its black bezel but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I agree the 116710 is a great watch but how do you use it for timing decompression stops?

Nice pickup! The 116710LN is definitely a sleek, under-the-radar choice.
I get what you mean about it feeling a bit flat, especially if you’re used to the depth and heft of dive watches like the DSSD and Sub. But sometimes, a change of pace is nice, something that doesn’t scream “LOOK, DIVE WATCH GUY HERE!”

Give it some time on the wrist; you might appreciate the more low-key vibe. And hey, worst case? It’s still a classic GMT, and those never go out of style. Curious, how do you feel about the polished center links?

It’s a new one to me.

Most of the time I see men crying about the thickness of a watch if it’s not 11mm or less.

I own and love GMT.

Very nice choice!

Yep, the fear of heights by grown men has really gotten out of hand once the influencers decided.

Well expect 95% of all dive type watches bought today never see any water except perhaps a dip in the pool or shower.Better still the older 16710 GMT is a very versatile watch get all 3 inserts for little money then you have 3 different watches for the price of one.

116710ln has been my off and on grail for ten years; I had a deposit on a new one back when new retail was in the $7K zone but I let it slip through my fingers. Almost bought one a couple of months ago but I couldn’t make the trade work. It’s the only Rolex I can say I want at the moment but not quite enough to write a check or take a loss. I’ve had mixed feelings for it all these years but the feelings have been constant.

Wear it.

My 116710ln is my usual work watch- more low-key than others I have, just appears to be a Sub to those not in the know. I decided the GMT function was more useful than the extra depth rating of a Sub. I like the jubilee and the PCL’s.

Show me a diver who goes deeper than 100 m wearing nothing more than a Sub, and I’ll show you someone who is dumb or a complete Luddite!

YMMV
