URGENT Daytona Question - pls help

So I happen to walk into an Ad this morning and casual ask whether they have any Daytona's in. My pref is for a Black face.

Just a minute they say .....

Out comes a V Series 7 xxxxx Black Face from the safe. Price is US$9,400.

Mine for the taking.

I ask whether it has the new clasp (recall reading here there was a clasp upgrade recently). The sales woman frankly had no clue about the watch - the series or the clasp.

I didn't want to pull the trigger being unsure as to whether not not this is the most current model.

SO -

1. CLASP - Can any of the very well informed members please advise whether a Daytona V - 7xxxxx has the new clasp ????

2. PRICE - I hear stories about discounts on SS Daytona's - no discount here - is this reasonable ???

Also is there anything else I should be checking ?

I need to get back to them pronto - so I'd greatly appreciate any help here.

Get an Omega Speedmaster Pro instead. $3450 list...but you can likely get discounts up to 30%.

So for $2500 or so, you get a watch with more history, matte black face and IMO, looks as good.

I am sort of kidding. I am in love with Rolex now, don't get me wrong...but man....that is a lot of cash for that particular watch. ALOT.

Sounds like a good price. Maybe you can talk them down a bit more. Good luck!

I'd have to agree with you there, the Speedy Pro has a far more interesting pedigree than the Daytona, in my opinion

I have a V 5... series TT Daytona and it has the new clasp. Yours is a later serial number so it certainly has the new clasp.

I just bought a V397XXX series ss Daytona and mine has the new clasp. If you've been looking for one and are ready to splurge, go for it! They're awesome!

Agree with you about the speedy pro. After owning one I'm in love with it. Would def look into a white daytona also, this will give me to popular chrono watch from two great watch houses.

I believe the clasp was changed partway through the M serial. With any V you should be safe.

If you can afford it, get it!

I wouldn't think too much about the clasp. I actually like the older better.

Best,

A

Retail is actually now $9925, so yes, it's below retail. Retail is usually lower in the Carribbean, though I'm still a bit surprised that it would be so on the ss Daytona.

Yeah. The white Daytona is gorgeous. It truly is...

$9500 Daytona Vs. $2500 Omega on the black face though. Oy, with the extra $7,000 in cash, one could get the Omega Speedy Pro AND a BRAND NEW Rolex GMTII c!!

Sorry for going on. I'll stop. I should know as well as anyone that the extra cash is because you love the watch. But a $7,000 delta. OK Silence.

Someone know what their date code on the clasp says?

Bought a white 116520 for my wife last week. New clasp, V-series 559 XXX. The date code says EO9 / September 2007. Almost two years gab between the bracelet and watch. That’s the biggest gab I’ve noticed of the 17-18 Rolex I’ve owned

Yes... new clasp.
The price is 9925... so u are already getting a discount.
I bought mine is Hawaii... not a penny less...
plus tax!
Tax in Hawaii was 1/3 of where I am from... so i did save a lot of money that way.
They won't discount it for you, so don't even try...
Get it while you can... if you don't like it, u can sell it in a few years and make money on it.
