233 strap length

Hi I just got a 233 that I am extremely happy with, However the OEM straps are a little small for my wrist. I can comfortably ware the watch on the second to last hole but would prefer it to be a little looser. As I am not sure of the original size it makes looking for a larger strap a little more challenging. Any and all help as to size and even maybe a recommendation for a strap or two would be greatly appreciated

Welcome and CONGRATS on the 233! That's a great watch. As for the straps, first thing to do is measure your wrist. After doing this I would recommend looking at some forum pictures and deciding if you like a lot or little amount of "tail" at the end. Once you know these two things, come back and we'll help you out.

Some great strap vendors:
* WWI Ammos by BigB & Kevin (www.watches24seven.com)
* Greg Stevens
* Micah (www.thestrapsmith.com)
* Ted Su
* Simona
* Rob Montana

OK thanks for getting back to me my wrist measures ( with a tape measure) 8 inches around exactly. My preference would be to have at least 2 inches to spare so my question is as the Panerai dealer has no longer straps are there places available to order them and if so do I need to send my wrist measurements or order on line. Thanks again for you help

Hi, congrats on the 233 :)

As B.Doggy said once you know your wrist size and decide on how much tail you want then custom straps are a good option. Any of the strap makers with their own site should have a 'strap sizing' guide (try toshistraps.co.uk) which should help you out, seems like maybe a 135/80 or 140/85 will do the trick depending on how much tail you want. Another thing to note is that straps will wear differently depending on the thickness of the leather too.

Also, the OEM Panerai straps that come with the watches are 115/75 - which is the standard size but about 99% of them are also available in a 'long' length which comes in at 115/95 which should fit you. Gives you the option of having a couple of OEM straps and a couple of custom straps too.

Hope this helps :)

Refer to the vendors I listed in my original response. They are all reputable. Check out this link and see if the sizing guide helps. I personally have 7" wrists and wear 145/85 size straps that are ~4.5mm thick.

It is all about your preference. I like to wear a variety of lengths. I have a 6.5" and wear anywhere from regular oem to 145/85.
