Bezel Pearl
Hi, my name is Rob and I'm a brand new Rolex owner since purchasing my new Deepsea a few days ago. I love my new watch and can't stop looking at it. Can anyone please tell me what the little pearl on the bezel is? Is there a reason why it's there?

Seems a design thing to me. Obviously not needed since the GMTs don't have one.

It's for the elapsed time function on the bezel, as Jocke pointed out and attached a link to your first querry yesterday. Unlike the GMT, which has no pearl, the deepsea, sub, dweller watches are meant for diving and all have the pearl. If one goes deep enough, light is limited, if not completely gone, or if one dives at night... With start point of the dive illuminated on the rotating bezel, one always knows at which point the dive (or whatever you're timing - food cooking, runs, etc.) began and how much time they've been under water by where the minute hand points on the bezel.
