ROLEX YACHTMASTER II trade

I found a guy selling a ROLEX YACHTMASTER II for around $26,000 what do you think a good offer is to give him?

Wow, $26,000 is quite low. Is this the white-gold model or the yellow-gold model? I believe the white-gold is slightly more, and in my opinion, more appealing as it has that SS look to it and actually looks like a tool-watch.

I know here in Canada, the YMII white-gold goes for a little over $42,000 CAD brand new and will probably cost even more when the prices go up in a week as the price of gold is going up also.

How much extra does he want in cash? $6,000????

As long as it checks out and you really want it, sure, why not.

You are gonna have to come out of pocket quite a bit....

The DSSD is worth about $6500 (you can get new for $7200)

The Panerai (hard to really say as you do not give the model) but I will assume the 171 as it is the only PR which comes from the factory with a bracelet would be worth about 7000 + or - a couple hundred either way......

Neither of your watches are precious metals so that really hinders you on your end, the 171 is not a very desired Panerai, the DSSD is just way down thanks to gray market not to mention the whole watch market STINKS! Also does he really want your watches or is he planning on trying to sell them?

The 26K he is asking seems like a pretty fair price so I doubt he is going to be that flexible.

Welcome to the board... Shoot me a PM I am in Farmington Hills also!!!!

Doesn't sound liket that great of a deal.

The YG lists for $33,650 and can be bought for $25,000 BNIB.

I don't own any of the three watches in question, but it sure seems to me that the DSSD is considered to be very desirable by the Rolex/WIS community. The YMII appears to be one of those love-it-or-hate-it watches. One thing for sure is the resale value of gold Rolexes is a fairly depressing notion.

Be careful not to lose your watches.

I'd take them to an AD and try to eek out the best deal possible.

Too many risks when dealing with strangers - don't do it - be warned.

+1

Not too crazy about the YM2 which I think is just at market price at $26K, but the DSSD is something I'd trade 2 kidneys for (not mine of course).
