Rolex President blues.....
OK
I do not know why It is so not me as I am a sports watch guy but I cant stop thinking about a Plat. President...... I REALLY have been thinking of selling quite a few pieces to get one. Why? Am I gonna tire of it right away? Am I gonna actually wear it as I am a jeans and t kinda guy who actually gets dirty when I work. This isnt new I have thought of them for YEARS but usually its been the YG version but the past year or so its really been the Plat that has been drawing me in especially with my pale skin I think it would look better and less in your face. I like the Ice Blue dial with Romans BUT I just saw this one yesterday and WOW SEXY!!!! What do you guys think? Should I wait till I am a bit older, dress more formal and dont get my hands as dirty? What do you think of the dials I like? (not a great pic of the blue but you get the idea) I have already considered the DD II and it just does not do it for me.... I have a DJII which I like but the DD II Plat Smooth bezel just doesnt look right to me.

Having owned a Platinum with Glacier Blue Roman dial--yes! Unreal watch--AS for the Peral face--no way-the same watch has been for sale on Ebay for 5 years! No buyer for it--too much for most. The Galcier blue--pure class--understated elegance--one of my favorite watches I have owned.

My first and only Rolex, plat president with glacier dial. Simple, timeless.
The only time I don't wear it is if I think I might do something that it will hurt it, like mechanical work or when working out. Kind of neat to walk around with a half-pound of platinum on my wrist. Since it is white metal, somewhat stealthy too. |

Between these two, I prefer the plat w/glacier dial. I find the first DD to be too pink in color...a bit feminine IMO.

Definitely Glacier Blue--The MOP President do not sell well but I guess get it though if you own a White suit --sport platform shoes and style a large hat with a feather.

Plat Pres is awesome. Get the one YOU like the best. You are the one writing the check and you are the one who will be wearing it. Most of all, enjoy it. If you get it dinged up, the RSC will take care of it.

Glacial blue is nice, no doubt.
But the MOP dial is better looking. Were it not for the guilloche pattern, it may not look quite as cool, but with it, it most definitely does. I got an unusual dial on my DD back in '89, only one I've ever seen, and to this day it gets compliments any time I wear it into an AD. Far from being effeminate, the MOP looks distinctive, and I'm guessing will be highly sought after in a few years. You don't want to look weird, mind, but this is just different, and IMO makes a compelling case.

Well it is only a matter of time guys....
I am selling MANY pieces of my various collections to fund two grail pieces. The Plat President will be one for sure. Just gotta move some stuff and then find the right one for me. I am really leaning towards the MOP dial, it just has a classy unique look. Only time will tell though. One nice thing about the President is with the gray market you can always find other dials and easily have a watchmaker change them for you.

That pearl dial is stunning !! I'd go for that one in plat or wg.
However for me I'm craving a 18k yg White dial with Romans. Hope I can pick one up this year. |

Either one is beautiful. Personally, I love that MOP the best. I realize how tough a decision it is, but that MOP - especially with the guilloche effect around the edge - absolutely stunning! It just has that extra bit of class and distinctiveness. It is amazing, as it changes in every type of lighting.
Can't wait for the big day and to see pics! Cheers, Carl

Well the fiancee voted for the blue...
I wish it was easy to change dials and Id be in heaven... I love them both. The blue gives it a bit more of a casual edge while the MOP is still casual for a Pres but it gives it that edge of snobby old $ class....
