Authentic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Explorer II

So fellow TRF'rs ............. Is this a fungus or simply someone hoping the price bids up ? Since JJ owns one, I'd love to hear his take on the watch. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Some pictures. More on the auction.

Yeah, I saw that and forgot to upload that picture. It's another that would make a great tool watch till the new Exp II Orange Hand comes out next year. It would allow me to moth ball my 2 mo old 14060M V serial and use it as a trade.

I truly want JJ's input on this watch. With him owning one and being an aficionado of the Exp II, I've no doubt he can spot a fungus from miles away !

Well,I asked the seller if the bracelet was the original. His response : Dear MikeyTX,

The bracelet is original.

I vote real. Nothing wrong with starting an auction low with no reserve. If it's a good, popular piece like this it will find it's true value no problem in a good well placed, worded and timed auction.

I'm beginning to think so too. I looked at several close up photo's of end links on the same model shown on well know gray market web sites. They all look the same side by side. I just wish the seller had shown the links just below the end links on the bracelet as that is where Rolex places the build stampings.

Seems okay to me, Michael..........but I can't be a hundred percent sure. Larry would be the best person in this case.......as are some of the others on this forum.

Box is definitely not original........quite different actually!!

I sent Tools the link as you suggested yesterday. I kind of have the feeling he's up to his you know what in alligators as he simply suggested I post it here which I'd already done. It may also be a liability issue for him to give a personal opinion with him being a moderator on the forum. At least the seller states that the box is aftermarket so he is covering all his bases.

The box is not aftermarket, it's COUNTERFEIT and therefore trademark infringement violating Ebay policies. The auction needs to be pulled.
