Vintage rolex does not wind on watch winder

I own a 1959 rolex day just; it has recently been serviced
however when on the winder it will not wind .. it simply stops after its 'charge' has been used up even though the winder is on ...
My modern Exp II and an automatic (cheap) Seiko are fine on the winder ...

any ideas ?? has anyone come accross this ??

Your watch may not be an automatic winder. Try winding it by hand.

DJ's from that period would have had the 1565 movement. Even the previous models of DJ were autos - they used the 1130 series.

As far as not winding - stumped!!

My mom's 1953 Lady DJ does not stay wound on my Orbita either. No problem when worn, though.
