maurice lacroix watches

Guys,
in my quest for a dress watch i have come across a number of maurice lacroix watches which seem like quite good value for money. Anyone have anythoughts on this brand or any experience? it seems that a lot of their designs are rather reminiscent of JLC's, zenith's etc.. but for a lot less $$$. Are they well respected or junk rip offs?

The Masterpiece series watches are quite nice. I have a Calendrier Retrograde TT which I like a lot.

Bob,

Are these things relatively affordable compared to other dress watch brands? I am not in the mood for a dress watch, but that dial has my attention.

maurice

i have been follwing that brand for years now and they look like they are a well respected brand.
I have seen some in person, and the fit and finish is right up there with Zenith.

Some of the ML chronographs are aesthetically quite appealing.

One of my friends is a very fine jeweler, and the watch he carried for years is the ML. Befotr I got my wife her Yachtmaster, I got her a ML diamond platinum dress watch, and it is gorgeous. No complaints. It is an old and respected house, and you will love your dress watch.

The finish on mine is great! You gotta look for a discount because they are quite expensive. MSRP on mine was $4,025 a couple of years ago. They are about the same $ as a Rolex now. But you can get them for less. A lot less.

I had a couple of JLC's and they were a fine dress watch also, with in house movements. I like the size and dial of the ML...

Lacroix is a very good, time honored brand, as others here have said. Here's one I particularly like - the Masterpiece series Double Retrograde:

and the back

The only thing I don't like about it is that it is not automatic. This is especially troublesome because of the calendar and 24 hour functions that have to be reset each time you wear it, unless you wind it on a regular basis - something I would most likely forget to do.

I love mine

I bought mine on a cruise last spring and have really enjoyed the watch. As a matter of fact, I have looked to sell my GMT to get another. The fit and finish is real good and it has been an accurate watch as well. [IMG]
