usually the only ones that notice are wearing luxury watches themselves.

I have the $$ to buy it, but at the same time I want a watch that is technically superior also and DSSD seems
to fit the bill. You can say I have the Napoleon Complex.
well, at least you're honest. it would catch my attention, but that's 'cause i compulsively look at what's on other people's wrists (i really need to curb this). but i don't think non-wis types will catch your act at all.

i must add: i do not agree with your statement that "Most have bought it for the BULK factor and the bragging rights anyways." perhaps some folks have purchased it for this reason, but i'm sure there are many who wear a dssd simply because they like it, not to brag. ciao.

Yes--gotta have some gold in it if your going for the flashbang effect. Otherwise, most will view it as just another oversized watch.

Said it before, will say it again... If you want attention with a DS, shove it down your undies and wear tight jeans! I've only had 2 people notice mine and they are both watch people.

Nobody notices my DSSD
On the other hand almost everyone used to comment on my TT blue sub and YM II

ThankYou
I got one comment on it in the 6 months I have had it.

Good to see that everyone only purchases their watch for its superior time keeping, durability, resistance to shock, legibility, water worthiness and value for the dollar........

It's good to be here on the G-Shock forum, where no one buys their watch for brand recognition or to impress other people.

I bought a new G Shock to impress my neighbors

I am sure some do buy Rolex to impress others but I would have to state with almost 100% certainty that most here on TRF do NOT fit into that category. We buy because of the quality, durability...as you mentioned above... Value for your buck? Most likely not but as I have mentioned several times, I have worn Rolex for about 11 years and I think someone has noticed less than half a dozen times... I honestly can not think of another luxury item you can wear and use for 5-10 years and get your money back out of it, I love Rolex...Just wish handbags were the same way for my wifes sake and my wallet

No one has noticed my DSSD thus far and that's just the way I like it. Prefer to be less noticed period. But whenever I wear my GMT Master II, I do get a few head turns, probably from watch fans only also who like the contrasting sporty black and red (things go better with COKE) handsome bezel.

What drew me to the DS in the first place was it's amazing engineering and technological prowess, robustness and accuracy, and believe it or not, it's rather understated and "below the radar" look. come on now, this watch has very little bling factor to speak of. No real wow factor, no stones, gold, etc,

Though fairly large, it's still your basic black and stainless steel job and pretty much under the radar for this reason, assuming it's even noticed in the first place.

And from a distance, it nearly looks like your basic Seiko or Timex in fact. Again, just the way I prefer it. Life is good in the slow lanes for me. LOL.

BEST REGARDS

Although come to think of it, when I had my Deepsea, my wife was very impressed to find out that my watch was the source of my "original gas escape". I'm sure other women probably noticed as well. Nothing like explaining yourself on your rehaut to start a conversation.

I also get more attention with the two tone sub. Most of the watch neophytes thing the DSSD is just another Rolex submariner. From a distance they do look the same.

Without reading the rest ofthis thread I would say the TT Sub wins in bling factor hands down if that's what ur looking for. I personally own the TT Ssub and my brother is wearing the DSSD I would say the dssd is pretty understated compared to the TT sub. The TT shines.

My DOXA got more attention than any other watch I have owned, but my DSSD is my favorite by far.

A yellow gold Yachtmaster II will easily attract more attention...... Is that really the reason you want to buy a watch though?
