Just found this forum last week. Have owned and worn my SS Submariner since February 1980. My wife was pissed when I bought it! She thought I was a spend thrift and would never save any money for the future. It cost $760 at Smart Jewelers in Chicago. Turned out this was my only splurge purchase in 31 years of being married.

Collecting books has become my passion and what I could get for my watch would help me fill in several spots in my collection.

Welcome to TRF!

Good luck with the Sub. Is it a 1680 or a 5513?

It is a 1680 with original dial and hands. Still under warranty from Rolex USA after service last year and warranty service this month. Just got it back today. Wife has camera with her on vacation, so no pictures yet.
