Rolex Box

In storing my various watch boxes, I just noticed that I have two different sized Rolex boxes- my GMT IIC (bought at an AD- the Big T) is in the larger green box, my Sub Date 16610 is in the smaller size. I know that the smaller one is correct for the Sub, but is the larger one correct for the GMT IIC? And if it's the wrong size, does it matter? Thanks.

I recieved some different sizes of boxes with the watches I purchased. I don't believe this matters, I mean all I hear is wether a Rolex has it or doesn't. Bbut then again you can always find a box for sale somewhere anyway.

So it may be perfect natural to come in a different size depending on which watch you buy and the style of box probably would matter more if you were toget technical anyway.

Typically, the SS watches are in a small box, the TT in the medium box, and the Gold models get the large box..

However, the boxes are separate from the watches.. The watch gets to the Dealer in a tiny little plastic hard sleeve and are shipped under tight security. The boxes and other stuff comes in a big cardboard shipping container and a brown truck.. It is the responsibility of the Dealer to put the proper sales package together..

Sometimes they assign that job to the new guy on minimum wage with minimal training who stayed out too late last night............

I have 3 SS watches, all purchased within the last 4 months at NYC AD's. The Sub 16610 came in the small box, the GMT C came in the medium sized box, the Sub C came in a large box. The first 2 were purchased at Wempe and I think came in the correct boxes for the watches. The Sub C, purchased 2 weeks ago from Tourneau came in the large box, which is probably incorrect. It is a real nice box though.

Thanks,
Ken

PT/SS YM came in large box, SS Daytona came in small box, friend got his recent SS SUb in large box.

I don't know if there is a pattern or just luck/whatever the AD has around.

Whatever the sales person pulls out. I complained at Tourneau when I got my GMTIIc, because the box they gave me was smaller than the one that came with my SD and they switched it for a large one.

From the responses in this thread, it appears that size does matter.

I got my GMTIIC in a small box.. it depends on the stock the AD has.. I preferr small boxes because they take a smaller volume in my safe.. But you can always ask your AD if you're in a good relation with them to upgrade the box size for a smaller/bigger size.. I guess all respectable AD are flexibe in this issue.

The small, Medium, large foe SS,TT,and FG is in keeping with my rolex box experiences...

But no matter what, the Rolex box is Shite....

I bought a corum Romulus 18k RG and the box is almost as impressive as the watch!

It has a droor, and solid oak, and is bigger than my first apartment!

I've never really cared much about the box, but I think Rolex should be embarrassed by the "home" that they provide their watches..

Bigger the box the more you're spending.

Generally the small box is for stainless steel, the medium box for Rolesor or two tone, and the large for gold, platinum, and brilliants.
