It occurs to me that the term 'DSSD' is a lot like saying 'ATM Machine'.

I mean, BOTH 'S's in DSSD stand for 'Sea'. Deep Sea-Sea Dweller? What's a Sea-sea? If it's a Sea Dweller characterized for living in the Deep, wouldn't it just make more sense to call it a 'Deep Sea Dweller', DSD?

Actually, I think the correct term is Seadweller Deepsea or SDDS for short...

I wish Rolex would have left the "Sea-Dweller" name off the watch and called it simply the "Deepsea."

Even "Submariner Deepsea" would make more sense, a la the older Sea-Dwellers.

Just go to rolex.com and read about it. They refer to it at as "Rolex Deepsea", or just Deepsea. Not on a single place do they call it "Sea-Dweller Deepsea" which makes me conclude that the "SDDS" acronym is an internet forum phenomenon.

Deepsea. That's it.
