Best but lowest cost fountain pen
Hi all...
Been reading this thread in dribs and drabs and notice many of you experienced pen fans mention how nice it is to use an FP. I just got myself a MB RB, but if it doesn't cost too much, what would be a good one to start playing around with, ideally in cartridge form to make it easy for me. Oh, and spill resistant would be nice too!

Kai, good choice and my second fountain pen was a Lamy Studio.....Bryan as a suggestion buy one that uses cartridges or a convertor. Convertors are not really hard to use(or fill)and they hold a lot more ink then cartridges. Always carry a fountain pen with the nib upright and you shouldn't have any problems!!!

Hello.
The majority of fountain pens today are c/c (cartridge/converter) pens and you can get some good-quality ones for some very low prices. I would suggest looking at companies like Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman and Lamy. Lamy is famous for selling cheap, good-quality, modern-styled fountain pens. Parker, Sheaffer and Waterman all sell cheap but very good-quality fountain pen calligraphy sets, which are tough, easy to use and long-lasting. They're a good way to try out fountain pens on the cheap side. |
