Good deal on a pre owned YG daytona???

Hi this is my first post on this site and i wanted to see if you guys thought this was a good price for a pre owned watch.. want to pull the trigger but only if its a good buy.

Anyways i would be purchasing the watch from a local jewler who i have known and dealt with previously for several years so i know hes a legit guy.

The watch is a YG daytona with bracelet, paul newman dial blk with gold subdials, box, papers, etc. The only thing i know about the year of the watch is that the original owner purchased the watch in mar 2005 from tourneu.. so im assuming that it would be around a 2005 model. My jeweler is going to fully service and refurbish the watch to like new condition and provide me with a 2 year warranty from his shop. Hes asking $16,000 .. good deal for that watch or no?

Thanks for your input!

Brian

Average price, a little bit on the high side.

Thanks for the input! Where do you guys recommend to look to find the best deal on a preowned? Ive browsed a few forums but didn't find anything that seemed like much of a better deal..

Welcome to TRF. I guess I'm in the minority as that is an excellent price. A $33K watch for $16K. I usually see asking prices of $16 to $17.5K. Actually a search on TRF on 116528 doesn’t show any asking price for that low with the 4130 movement (post 2000). Regardless, you are in the ball park.

That would be a decent deal for you and the seller. Sounds good.

Not too bad, but you should haggle for 1-2k less..

Agee Assuming !!!

When I was looking for a Daytona in 2004 one of the larger AD was still pushing a pre-4130 (zenith) movement (without disclosing it was 4 years old and an old movement). So the price is in ball park, if it is a 4130 movement and given the dial color combination.

Good luck a great and exclusive piece

The year it was originally sold doesn't say anything about the year of manufacturing. Ask for the serial number (or at least first 4 digits) to get a better sense....
