Well i think i've been pretty good with my watch. Just did a full look over and noticed only a few small hairlines on the polished sides of my sub. A slight scratch (1) on the clasp that can only been seen at one particular angle and other than that it still looks pristine. I've had my watch since august. Hasn't been worn every day but enough. I'm hoping i won't need to send it in for any polish for a good long time.

How have yours fared?

Same as you, there are some lines you can only see in certain light and angles. However, there's a fair amount of swirls on the clasp, mostly from just laying my hand down on my desk. They will be rid of easily when I send it in for servicing.

After wearing mine for about a week, I noticed swirls on the clasp from sitting at my desk and using the computer. My AD told me that once the watch is sent to RSC, they will polish it out, and it will look as new. But considering my watch is only a few months old, it will not go for a service in the next few years.

Mine is 2 months old and is still scratch free, My beater watch is the 39mm explorer, I wear the SUB after I come home from work.

How well is my Rolex doing scratchwise???? Way much better

than my Panerai.......it seems to get scratches every time I wear it!!!!!!!

& I'm very careful!!!!!

Mine is a GMTIIC and it gets its fair share of swirls on the clasp, mostly from just laying my hand down on my desk. Service is a bit in the distance future as I have only had it since May of this year.

The PCL on my GMTIIC is not really easy to keep scratch free. My SD on the other hand is holding up very very well.

Due to the severe weather in the UK mine has been saftely up my jumper sleeve, so it still looks good

Edit. now I have said that something is bound to happen

My DJ is 5 yrs old and has some minor battle scars on the bracelet from daily desk work but they're invisible unless you look very closely and I'm the only one who does that. And to me those scuffs are kind of like the scar on Padma Lakshmi's arm (Top Chef fans know of what I speak) - utterly inconsequential when compared to the overall beauty of the entire work.

My 14060M that I use for diving is dinged and scratched in several places. C'mon guys and gals..........wear and use your watches and don't sweat the small stuff.

Scratches are a fact of wearing any watch learn to live with them or keep watch in its box.But if thats the case why buy a watch even if it is a Rolex and at service watch will be polished as new.Life is too short to worry over any watch and especially a few normal wear scratches.

Scratches are a part of watch life as Padi said above! I like them as they are part of the watch!! Wear the watch and don't worry about the scratches!

I'm over the scratches on my watches. After the first one, they will all looking all similar afterwards anyway.
So just enjoy them and the scratches will be taken care of at the service

I've been wearing my LV almost all day and night since early October and the sides of the case and the clasp have minor hairlines. I'm very content with the way it is holding up.

Until I bought my GMTIIc the other week I was wearing my Sub everyday for a number of months. So far pretty much nothing scratch wise on it so I still have the 'first scratch' to come. That said my Omegas had a few scratches and when they happened I just goon with wearing and enjoying my watches.

Take good care of your watch but don't wrap it up in cotton wool - enjoy it!

My C-sub bought in Sept., and worn alot looks BNIB to me. I'm careful as all get out though.

Between the Explorer and the DJ, I've got quite a few, but I don't see them as anything to be concerned about.

On either watch, you have to look quite close to see them and actually, I don't think folks ever looks that closely at another's watch unless it is handed them

X1000 My experience exactly. I have worn my SD almost daily for 2.5 months and it looks like brand new. I have worn my GMTIIC three times around the house and I already had to take a Cape Cod to the clasp. Have I ever metioned on the forum that I LOVE my Sea Dweller?
