Submariner 1680/8 with jubilee 18k band

I recently acquired the above watch in pretty good shape, I have been a Rolex collector off and on for over 35 years, hoever, I have never seen the above compination.

What does the forem have to say relative to scarsity and value?

Welcome to TRF!!!
I don't believe the Submariner was ever produced with a Jubilee bracelet. The original Oyster bracelet was apparently swapped out sometime in the past for the Jub.

I believe the last listing for the 1680/8 was circa 1979 and the watch sold in extremely low numbers. As you know it's considered quite a prize to find one.

I'm not aware of the reference ever being offered on a jubilee bracelet, however it is my understanding that during those times one could spec a certain bracelet.
The jubilee was offered on the GMT, it's certainly possible that one was removed and fitted to the 1680/8.

Would love to see a photo of it when you have time!!

Well myself have never seen a sub with a jubilee, and a old Brochure from 1982 just lists the 16808 as oyster fliplock 92908.And GMT ref 83868 its possible the bracelet was changed sometime in its life, but would doubt it was bought originally like that when new.
