New (to me) Seamaster Chrono 2598.80 silver bezel. First Omega!
Since I'm currently tasked with the web design for the new Omega Forums, I figured it was only fitting I started my Omega collection ASAP.
The value provided by second-hand Omega pieces seems fantastic. The build quality is so tough and they're well engineered. Even older Omega bracelets and clasps seem to out-do Rolex and other brands in many ways. It's built like a tank, and weighs approximately 210 grams. What really sold me on the SMP chrono was TRF member dsio informing me the pushers were usable to the full depth rating. I'd previously never heard of a chrono with this feature. I can actually make use of this for free-diving, training, etc. A very useful complication. A 2598.80 silver-bezel (purchased in '98) popped up for a great price, so I jumped on it. The cost was easily low enough to be approved by my CFO ;) One of the previous owners was clever enough to attempt to remove the bezel with a bread knife (crowbar?) or similar, so it has a very slight wobble to it. I've ordered a replacement bezel assembly in blue, and a new crystal too. I'm waiting patiently for my parts and tools to arrive. I think the SMP Chrono looks better with the blue bezel, so mine will effectively become the 2599.80 A few pics taken outside this morning. No wrist shot yet due to it having a full set of links and being far too big. Cheers! |

Here's an iPhone pic of the (now) 2599.80. I swapped out the bezel assembly.
I've also resized the bracelet with the tool from Ofrei, and would never do it again. What a pain. I think the blue bezel looks much better, it provides a much needed contrast against the bracelet. Very happy with it. |

Enjoy

Can you please tell me what was the part number of the bezel. I have the exact same watch and have been looking for the part number to do the exact same thing. I think it is OME-082SU1360 from Ofrei ? But wanted to check with someone that has actually done it. How was the fit? And has your wobble cleared up after replacing the bezel? Mine has a slight wobble too. I actually ordered the OME_082SU1360 from Ofrei, but i can change the order if its the wrong one. Please let me know. Thanks.

Here's the numbers. Bezel was a perfect fit. I was able to install it with strong even pressure. I don't think removing it would be easy. The old one simply popped off since it was warped (previous owner).
