Fit of strap a bit loose...(PAM 111)
Hi everyone,
Today I finally joined the ranks of Panerai fans and got myself a nice gently used PAM 111. It was on the tan strap so using the screwdriver I quickly changed to the rubber strap which I find very nice. One thing though is that the buckle is already at the last hole but there is still a bit of play, a little bit of looseness that I feel. I know that I probably will have to make another hole but that will be hitting the letter "O" on the strap. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any kind of advice would be much appreciated. Thanks p.s. I hope to post pics soon... |

I have found that, by simply changing to a different buckle, the strap will fit much differently. Before you start punching holes in straps, try switching to a different buckle. A larger buckle will allow you to tighten up a notch, or a smaller buckle will let you use the larger notch. Try this before defacing your OEM straps

First, congratulations on your new addition! The 111 is definitely a classic...
I'm not so sure you'll be pleased with the end result of punching an extra hole. Adding an extra hole in rubber can be difficult, and having it match the others exactly will be nearly impossible. Instead, I'd suggest getting in touch with an AD to see if they have (or can get) the short version. The stock number for the short rubber dive strap is MX001JG7 and it measures 98x68mm. It sounds as if this one would offer you a better fitment, and you wouldn't have to risk ruining the one it shipped with. Drew |

This is my concern, that the holes will not match in terms of size and spacing. I was just thinking last night that getting a shorter strap would probably be the best way to go but was wondering if there was one, and it seems there is. I appreciate the info...so, as they say, the hunt for straps is on. |

Pick up the slack
The OEM rubber strap is very thin. Now that use have ented the Panerai maddness, you will discover there are some Great leather straps out there.
I have a fairly small wrist. What helps me is wearing straps that are thick. Somewhere in the 4.2mm to 5.0mm range. It really takes up the slack of having a smalll wrist. Maybe 115 x75mm? Look on the paneristi web site. There are many quality pre-owned straps for a reasonable price. Best of Luck and congrats on your Pam!!! Ron |

Guys, just an update here. I measured the rubber strap against the leather strap which fits perfectly fine, and they are the same length. Even the notches seem to line up when I place them on top of the other. Still, the rubber strap has a bit of slack when I wear it. Any reason as to why this is so? Kind of confused right now...
