Advice please: DSSD or PAM328 with deploy croc - same cost

Im thinking of getting a new 'big' watch - I've got a really good relationship with my AD and I've been offered a new DSSD or a new PAM328 (also they'll throw in a croc strap and a deployant clasp with the Panny).

Price is about the same for each- The DSSD is well discounted so each watch is just over the £5k mark.

Which one would you guys go for and why?

Also I have a SS Subc already so does this take the DSSD out of the question anyway cause they're so similar?

I here the PAM maybe too uncomfortable to wear all day (especially) if it's on the bracelet.

Let me know your thoughts guys.

Cheers!

Panerais are made for leather straps. If you're going to get one, definitely go that route.

Good luck with whatever you choose!!!

I think i may be in the minority but i kinda prefer Panerais on a bracelet. I think the new bracelet looks great but I'm sure i'd get into the swapping straps thing if i went down this route too.

Id pass on the DSSD if I had a sub C. How or why did you pass on the DSSD when you bought the SubC? I think that may answer your question if you want the pan or not. maybe? :) Good luck in your choice. you cant get it wrong.

Panerais are best on leather / croc for sure! I'd go with the Pani if you already have a SubC. The DSSD has got to be less comfortable than the PAM. I also think the PAM is fairly versatile for whatever kind of clothes you are wearing if its on a croc.

Go with the PAM. I think that the submariner and DSSD are very similar. I had a DSSD and definitely my PAM270 is more comfortable. Panerai on leather and the ease of strap changing is awesome.

If I was in your situation I'd go for the DSSD and then find a nice second hand PAM 000, if you look hard enough you'll find a second hand one in the £1850 price region that is still under manufacturers warranty.

I have the DSSD and wear it almost everyday. Rolex = Metal strap. Panerai = Rubber or leather!!

Not in love with Panerai at all, so i would get the DSSD. Is your SubC the black dial model ?

I agree with this advice! Spend top dollar on the rollies but try to wheel and deal for the PAMs..you'll get over the PAMs real quick (I know I did).....just my opinion..

i think you go DSSD if you "NEED TO HAVE IT". you have a subC already and are hesitating btw the DSSD and 328. why not go 328 to mix things up a bit?

but, if you are thinking you are going to wear the PAM on straps mostly, save some cash and get a 312 (same as 328 with strap instead of bracelet).

not sure but i would have thought the deep sea would be heavier than the Pam and also less comfy.

It's really up to you on this one. The Deepsea is unique enough to not be like your Sub, but the Pam is nice too. I have a 312 Pam and love the whole changing straps thing with it, very cool and easy to do. On the other hand, I probably wear my Deepsea more than the Pam. Just something about a Rolex!

Flip a coin, seriously. No regrets on either my DSSD or PAM, ahem, on bracelet.
