Are Your Synthetic Crystals Flawless??

I happen to be wearing a new Anniversary Sub outside and the sunlight hit the watch at just the right angle for me to notice a BUNCH of what looked to be tiny/hairline/etc scratches in an all-over type of pattern - almost like polish swirl types of scratches. These are not reflections, which also appear sometimes but are distinctly different than these swirls.

Since then, I am able to see these pretty clearly in bright light and whenever I catch sight of the watch in profile or at enough of an angle (i.e. not straight-on). Is this normal???

I had a SD back in 2006 (that I no longer have ) but i dont remember noticing anything like this on the crystal.

I have tried softly washing with warm water and soap, using a clean cloth, etc. but the marks just dont seem to go away.

Are your crystals just completely clear and 'clean' when viewing in direct sunlight at an angle? I suspect so...but that means a trip back to the AD for me and possibly no watch!

Strange.. All of my crystals on all of my watches are perfect..

I know what your talking about. I have seen those on my sub. They are not real scratches, if you wipe the crystal with your shirt you will notice that the scratches seem to go away and reappear in new places.

Mine is "crystal clear"...except for the LEC at the 6 o'clock position.

hmmm, his description sounded quite similar to my problem - but the picture does not really look at all like my issue.

i suppose my issue could also be with the dial but, if so, it as not as clearly dial-related as the above poster's and does not appear as 'deep' if that makes sense.

just not sure whether i am obsessing (as can tend to happen) or if what i have here is not something i should just 'accept' because other NIB rolexes do not have this issue...
