sub slate serti

Question.. I like the sub w/slate serti dial two tone. I went to auth Rolex dealer, first time he told me he could get me one for 14k, next time I went in he told me Rolex never made a slate in a sub that all slates were fake and if I did buy one that Rolex would not work on it. Is this watch a Factory or not? confused..

Typical AD...Rolex indeed made a factory slate and champagne dial on the TT Subs.

I own this one and yes it is all factory:

I would go to another AD and hoping the new one knows what he/she is talking about....

Keep in mind that Rolex did make these, however they no longer do. They no longer offer the Slate and Champaign faced Serti dial. This is something that was availible with the 16613 Sub, but they do not have those color of dials for the 116613 or SubC. I believe the only color of dial they have for the 116613 Serti is a blue dial.

The sales person you spoke with maybe fairly new and unaware that this was an option with the previous version of the Sub.

I agree. As a biased fan of the YachtMaster, I've always found the slate serti Sub to be an awesome looking watch.

The sub slate is my grail. My ad has two......I just can't financially pull the trigger on one yet.

PM if you have any questions.

slate serti

Thanks for the response. I know nothing about Rolex watches. I seen a sub slate serti and thought it was the most beautiful watch I had ever seen. I have to have one, and do not want to buy unless it is authentic factory. I think the local Rolex dealer was trying to sell his current stock. My family jewler, not auth dealer has located this watch used. Factory papers box etc, 95%. Is 8G around the right price for a 05 sub slate serti?
