New Rolex?
I just purchased a Lady's Datejust from a local AD. The dial was a Golddust MOP. I did a little reasearch and found that the watch dial wasn't in the line up for 2011. The serial number was "M" and I'm not sure if that's a current model or not. He did give me a discount, but I was wondering did he sell me a watch that was sitting in his display for several years and tell me it was new? Can someone with an expert knowledge on serial numbers and the dial mentioned tell me is this watch current and if now how old? Thanks guys

If I remember correctly serial numbers starting with an "M" first came out in 2007 but that is when the case was stamped and made. It does not mean the watch was assembled in 2007 and even if it was it is still brand new and you still get the two year warranty from Rolex from the date of purchase. It is still considered brand new even if it was made in 2009 as long as you are the first owner it is considered new. As another example I bought a "Z" serial numbered Submariner No Date in February 2008 even though the case was made in 2006 it has never been worn or used so technically it is still brand new and I can sell it as brand new...even though the warranty has run out. As for your dial I do not know anything about it so I can not help you there. From your description it sounds like you have a very nice Rolex watch with an MOP dial...enjoy!!!

It's a bit like gasoline or milk, the price will go up and you'll pay the new price even though you buying yesterdays gas or milk.
