TRF Sellers and Blank Warranty Cards?
I'm in the market for a Sub-C and I'm confident in the sellers here on the forum. My concern/question is that this will be my first Rolex and its important for me to have my name on the warranty card. Maybe its silly, but this is a watch I plan on holding onto forever. If this is important to me, would I be better off going to an AD? Is it going to be hard for a seller here to get me what I want and is there going to be much price difference? The actual warranty is somewhat important, but not a deal breaker. I'd rather save a bunch of money and take my chances is that is possible. Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks, Brent |

The only place authorized to give you a valid warranty and a properly filled out warranty card is a Dealer..
If it is important to you, then you will not be satisfied with anything less. If you're just shopping price; there are trade-offs..

Why the big deal about your name on the card? None of my cards have seen the light of day since I purchased the watches. Just sits in the closet Call some ads. Maybe you can get a deal close to the online dealers here. Will be tough for your first purchase though.

ask around to sellers, some can get u a watch w your name on card, in the end if you stick on this board you will end up flipping a few times so the name on the card does not mean anything.

DavidSW got me a brand new Datejust II with my name on Warranty for a great deal. Lessened the blow that my local AD was delivering on the same piece! Ask DavidSW. Read my thread asking about him that I posted last week. Less then one week later I was a proud Rolex owner with the watch I wanted and my name on the CARD!!! Ask and though may receive.

For a Sub-c it might be difficult to find anyone who has an open warranty card. It is technically against RUSA's "laws" to sell a watch with an open warranty card because it pretty much gives you an unlimited warranty. You might get lucky and find someone selling a new one with an open card but that's a rare occurrence. If it really means that much to you, shop around and see if you can find an AD who is willing to give you a discount (not likely however since this is a popular model). Since this is your first Rolex I'd say make it "honest" and go for one brand new from an AD if you don't mind paying MSRP.

Purchased a BNIB YG DD from David SW last year with my dad's name on the card. All I had to do was ask, too easy.
I'm sure the same goes with the other Trusted Sellers here.

Sorry if I'm mistaken, but isn't the important thing for a valid Rolex warranty the dealer stamp on the warranty card, and not the buyer's name? As long as the warranty is stamped by an AD Rolex will honor the warranty even though it doesn't have the buyer's name, right? At least I think that's how it works in Canada. My SubC warranty is stamped, but doesn't have my name on it, and I've had the watch regulated at the RSC without issue.

How do you know when does the warranty start and expire, since it's left blank from the sellers here?

If it is your first watch and it is a keeper, then try to find an AD that will discount.
It sounds like that will make you happy, anything less and you may regret. I can understand that if it is going to be YOUR watch, that you want it to be YOURS, not a used watch you bought for a discount. I have both, some I paid extra to be the first and only owner, some that I will probably flip in time, so it makes no difference. But for my keeprs, I wanted to be the only owner. Sound silly? Maybe, but I'm willing to pay a little extra for that because I intend to keep them forever and pass them down. There is something about being the first and only owner of a watch. Then again there is something to be said about a Fantastic used discount too. To me it depends on the watch and if I intend to keep or flip. |

We all plan on keeping every watch forever in reality it probably will not happen. I would not let my name on a warranty card cost me $1,000 or more, plus sales tax too
Call DavidSW he'll hook you up |

Well if it's left completely open it's up to you when to start it. However, it's best to date it around when the watch was produced otherwise it might be suspicious.

I've gotten watches from DavidSW and Bodybump with my name on the warranty card. I highly recommend them.
Send them a message and they'll be able to get what you need. |
