Pam 104 modification!! Need advice!
Hi guys,
I'm interested in purchasing a PAM 104, this is exactly what I'm looking for! Would it be a sin to change the crystal for another one but without the cyclop??? Not sure, since this would be my first PAM, wanted to get advice from experienced Panerai owners! Looking forward to your reply! Cheers |

It's your watch, do what you want.
![]() I've never actually seen such a mod, but given the number of people who aren't sold on the cyclops, I'm surprised I haven't seen it. Personally, I think the cyclops balances out the dial nicely, so, I don't mind it. ![]() |

I've researched it, you have to replace the xtal asthe cyclops isn't glued on like a Rolex. It is part of the xtal. I'm not sure how you'd get the correct size xtal.

Since I am not fond of any cyclops know a watch, I would appreciate such a modification. This said, you would likely hurt resale value.

I'm not 100% sure if a 111/112/176/177/000/005 crystal is the exact same as a 104. Hopefully, but again, not 100% sure.

Yeaaa, go for 312 .it is also automatic ,renewed case, brushed case with polished bezel. Its simply a 104 with total makeover. And the movement in 312 is P.9000 executed entirely by Panerai a.k.a In house. And last but not least. No cyclop.

312 is a fine choice, but, i would just add that trying it on is important, as wrists vary and the 1950s case doesn't always sit as well on the wrist as the non-1950s. i originally wanted a 312, but went with the luminor case after having tried them on. if it does sit well, 312 is a great reference.
