I recently had my 6538 serviced. I noticed that when I wind the watch slowly, it seems to catch or hiccup in spots.......but if I wind it faster, it feels pretty smooth.....Any ideas? Obviously, I'm going to be contacting the watchmaker.....but I'm just curious..

Reverses are sticking. Either because of improper lubrication, cleaning, or magnetism. If you just had it serviced it is probably magnetized a little bit which is a super quick fix for your watchmaker.
