I would also like to know if people sail or not and if they like it for regattas. I only ask because I do sail and may be swayed in the direction of the YMII if it is functional.

It does seem fishy. My questions still remains. Does any YMII owners here sail, and if so, how does it perform?

The OP is on my radar, and has been for a few days now.....
I'm a little skeptical, as he ignores all requests to post his own YMII pics. I'm happy to be corrected however~! To answer his question, no reactions at all, and most couldn't care less in the general public.. Leslie, I do not sail, but do have a YMII. The regatta timer is a neat feature, but not practical for sailing use, and I'd venture a guess that no-one in the sailing community uses it for it's intended target.... However, a wonderful feat of horology......Great as an egg timer though!! Where in Red Deer would you go sailing if you don't mind me asking??

A very nice lake indeed, and great for a family..... There's also some other large bodies of water further north great for sailing..... Check 'em out! Enjoy the summer!

I'm a Canadian now by marriage, and spent a great deal of my time here in the Edmonton Calgary area.

"you clearly don't sail" is the reaction that I give
Quote:
I think "you clearly don't participate in regattas" Correct me if I'm wrong but I was told that to set the timer you need to open the crown and manipulate it on the first stop out. This would imply that in order to set the timer while in your regatta, with the sea and splash all over, you would have to compromise the water integrity of your watch. Please correct me if I am incorrect in how the mechanism functions.
