Bad AD experience.

I while on a short biztrip to Paris.
I dropped off my (beater) pepsi GMT at a local AD for a complete repolishing of the case.
Got it bad after a few days (paid about $190).
It looked good at first but something was off. Then I realized that @#$% had polished it the wrong way, the watch has lost its luster.

That's sad to hear. Hope that idiot didn't use French Polish!!

I dont know what he used, looks like something that got the luster layer off. Next time I'll send it to the RSC here in NYC.

Sorry to hear about that

I'd take it back to the AD and demand having the watch sent to RSC for a professional re-finishing of the watch.......at THEIR expense!

Tell let that if they refuse, you will report this to Rolex and that the risk losing their AD status!

Here is another example of OVERpolishing (not done by an AD, though, but by an owner using Cape Cod on it):
